Job Summary Position: Electrician (Trade Tested)

Reporting Line: Plant Engineer

Division: Plastic Plant

Job Summary:

• Perform repair & maintenance activities to fulfil operations requirement
• Maintain Plant equipment & tools as per company standards
• Comply with health, safety, and environment policies
• Risk Management

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Technical, Industrial, Electrician, Electronics
• Minimum 2-5 years exp in a Plant would be advantageous
• Fluent in English
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand Manuals
• Ability to read and understand wiring and schematic diagrams
• Ability to use electrical test instruments and tools
• Knowledge in electrical system repair activities

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Installs new circuits and equipment
• Installs conduits, wires, cables, pull boxes, transformers, switches, and other related equipment required in making additions, extensions, or alterations in electrical systems,
• Test and diagnose malfunctioning machinery using test equipment, and repairs malfunction.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices
• Performs preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on plant equipment.
• Tests and repairs all safety circuits in control units.

Perform Repair and Maintenance Activities:

• Communicate with plant stuff and other BU department in a professional manner concerning all pertinent machine data that impacts the user's ability to run equipment or systems.
• Using detailed work instructions, including electrical schematic and connection drawings
• Operating plant equipment
• Proficient in the utilization of multi-meters, frequency generators, data loggers, and assorted hand tools and documentation of measurements.
• Mentor Maintenance Mechanics by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
• Install, troubleshoot, PM, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronics test equipment

Maintain Workshop Tools & Equipment:

• Properly handle and maintains all tools and equipment, keep them in a clean and working condition
• Operate hand and power tools
• 100% Compliance

Comply with Health, Safety and Environment Policies
(mandatory for all)

• Exercise due diligence towards health and safety of self and others in the organisation
• Comply with the applicable HSE procedures, instructions, requirements, standards received from regulatory and statutory bodies
• Proactively report superior occurrences, events, violations and acts that may impact employee health, safety or environment

Risk Management (Mandatory: Line Management discretion)

• Analyse current risks and identify potential risks in the area of responsibility
• Report the risk tailored to the relevant audience
• Build risk awareness amongst team by providing support and training
