OSITION: ELECTRICIAN

The position will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

Assemble and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Assist in testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Assisting with the maintenance of the buildings, plant and refrigeration of the premises. Ensuring minimal downtime/breakdowns. Required to start up the plant and repairing of defects. Assist in the management of refrigeration units and temperatures in the plant. Ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to health and safety requirements. Assisting with all repairs, breakdowns, projects and daily tasks and carrying out of all the activities on the maintenance schedule. Conducting of preventative maintenance on the weekend.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following requirements:

Minimum Grade 12.

N3 - N6 Electrical qualifications

Trade tested electrician.

2 years' post trade test experience in electrical and maintenance work.

Team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude in the team.

Willing to be on standby for breakdowns and conducting of preventative maintenance over the weekend.

Good knowledge of general electrical panels and plant electronics.

Ability to operate power and hand tools used in building maintenance and repair specialties.

Be able to do general fault finding.

Must be able to adhere to safety practices in handling hazardous materials.

Good communication skills.

Must be willing to work early shifts, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays when required
