Are you motivated and committed to your career? Midstream Electrical Supplies, is seeking an Electrician in the Electrical Department to perform installations and maintenance on the MES Electrical LT Electrical Reticulation network and allocated buildings.

Minimum Requirements

Valid Matric Certificate

Valid Electrical Trade Test

Knowledge of reticulation networks, switching and insolation procedures

Knowledge and understanding of generator AMF panels and switching

Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel)

2 years relevant experience in LV environment

5 years relevant experience in electrical maintenance

Preferable wireman' license and experience of PV Infrastructure

Valid Code 8/10 driver's license

Job Specification

Installations of new electrical meters, DB's, circuit breakers, surge arrestors, contractors, new LM devices, new plugs, switch sockets, lights, links, and holders under floor heating devices

Installation and maintenance of electrical reticulation networks

Diagnose malfunctioning systems on reticulation networks

Installations of new generator/s tied into reticulation

Installation of new pumps and controls circuits level and pressure

Maintenance on all minisubs, kiosks, distribution board, lights in buildings and streetlights

Switching on HT reticulation mini sub transformers, T switches operation

Replace damaged Kiosks and do balancing loads on mini subs, kiosks, distribution boards and streetlights

Compile power reports on reticulation network

Conduct maintenance on all generators

Inspect electrical equipment to identify hazards and defects to minimize electrical breakdown failure

Attend Call Outs: Fault finding and repairing all faults

Maintenance of tools and machinery which includes but are not limited to toolbox inspection, vehicle inspection and all procedures to keep tools and equipment in good condition.

Comply with legislation, Occupational Health and Safety procedures and best practices, regulations, and policies.

Time and resource management, which include completion of Job Cards, stock requisition and record keeping.
