Our client, an established company operating in the agricultural sector, is looking for an Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join their team based in Wellington, Western Cape.

This role is ideal for a driven and proactive individual with excellent interpersonal & communication skills (Afrikaans & English), paired with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

The incumbent will report to the General Manager, and be responsible for: *Installing, maintaining and repairing of electrical and mechanical equipment *Reporting on technical issues and general feedback to management *Performing factory acceptance testing of new equipment *Actively involved in research and development projects *Implementing world class manufacturing principals *On-site staff management and acting in a Team Leader capacity *All other duties related to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
Millwright/Electrical qualification;
3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 relevant experience in a mechanical/electrical repairs and installations environment;
Sound electrical knowledge with regard to fault finding, 3 phase circuits and VFDxe2x80x99s;
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams;
Good report writing capabilities;
Valid drivers license and own reliable transport;
Willingness to work extended hours in peak seasons; and travel regularly within South Africa and abroad.

Advantageous:
Red seal certification;
PLC experience;
Forklift and plant equipment license;
Knowledge of the agricultural industry.
