Job Description

We are an integrated electrical and instrumentation engineering company providing engineering, design, installation and commissioning services operating out of Mpumalanga.
This is an important position servicing our Installation and Construction division. You are required to liaise with customers, determine and formalise work scope, plan and organise materials and tools for each project.
You are required to Control and manage small to large teams on a daily basis.
Develop detailed bill of quantities, generate quotations, liaise with suppliers and agencies, specify equipment to suit process parameters, and manage projects.
It is required that you assist and do designs on MV an LV Installations.
It is required that you manage and work with a team supporting on going small, medium and large projects.
You will determine work priorities according to the installation team schedule.
Outline of job responsibilities
As the Electrical Supervisor, your overall responsibilities will include the following but not be limited to:
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Management of the installation crews.
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Weekly progress reporting and site meeting with the client in consultation with Project Team.
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Daily manpower planning of the personal as per program and updating the program applicable to this contract
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Attending Site Meetings with Project team as per project schedule
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Compilation of a daily Site Diary Hard copy signed by the client as well as updating the project communication
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Execution of Site Instructions only after approval by client in writing and the project manager
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Detailed programming, based on the base line program issued by the client and approved by the project manager, showing all contractors activities
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Co-ordination of activities between all contractors involved and other Business Units.
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91To keep and update the drawing register
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91To read and understand the Contract Documents including all specifications
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Daily detailed measurements and continuous maintaining of actual accurate measurements
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Detailed measurements of cable lengths and proper planning per drum as per the client cable management system with drum numbers for guarantee purposes and/or waste per single line diagram
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Health and Safety, toolbox talks applicable to the Client and detail record keeping of training and record of the applicable documentation as per the SHEQ file
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Quality Assurance
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Progress measurements on a monthly basis agreed to and signed by the client representative and project manager, this includes all material deliveries to site for invoice purposes by the project manager
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Close co-ordination with the Project Team
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91You will co-ordinate all material deliveries and off-loading
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91You will be responsible for all time sheets and signing of time sheets on a weekly basis
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91The sub-contractors within your scope of work will be your responsibility
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91You will control site staff and site representative for QAQC and Safety
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91You are responsible to ensure that all safety appointments are in place including the sub- contractors appointments as per the various 37.2 contracts.
xc3xa2xc2x9dxc2x91Your appointment as the responsible person on site will be done as the 6.1
Candidate Requirements:
An Electrical Trade test, with 5 7 years experience as an electrical supervisor.
A wiremans license is required.
