Our client is looking to employ an Electrical Engineer to join their team based in Pretoria.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc) or equivalent.
ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer/Professional Technologist or working towards registration.
Minimum 5-8 years' relevant experience in consulting engineering, including electrical design, tender documentation, and project management.
Proven experience in energy optimisation, renewable energy solutions, and electrical systems integration.
Strong knowledge of SA and local standards, regulations, and technical legislation.
Experience with compiling BoQs, tender specifications, priced bills, and engineering drawings.
Skilled in project and construction management in line with ECSA standards.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD (or similar design software), and project management tools.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Strong business acumen with budgeting, financial control, and resource management capabilities.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally/internationally as required.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical
Deliver general consulting engineering functions, with a focus on electrical engineering, energy optimisation, and renewable energy solutions.
Undertake electrical design work, compile tender documentation, BoQs, priced bills, and engineering drawings.
Ensure compliance with ECSA standards, SA/local regulations, and technical legislation.
Research and implement new and more efficient electrical and energy systems.
Project & Construction Management
Manage allocated projects from inception to completion in accordance with ECSA procedures.
Support tender submissions and assist with compiling methodologies and technical reports.
Oversee risk management and quality management protocols (QMS) on projects.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the Comapny's national team to ensure project deliverables are met.
Office & Business Management
Attend and report on weekly project progress meetings.
Contribute to strategic planning and management sessions.
Manage budgets, monthly cash flows, and QAD 38 documents.
Implement and maintain office management, administrative, and control systems.
Oversee timesheet reporting, recoverability tracking, and performance incentives.
Assist with marketing, identifying new business opportunities, and preparing RFPs/tender proposals.
Manage logistics, including IT hardware/software, stationery, fuel, and disbursements.
