Purpose of the Job

Ceenex is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

Completing the design and implementation of electric distribution and protection systems for process plants. Conducting engineering designs under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings in the Engineering Field. Collecting and analysing data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications & Experience:

BSc/BEng Electrical from an accredited university or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years' experience in the relevant design field. Telecommunication experience will be advantageous. Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants design is advantageous. Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) would be an advantage. If such registration is not in place a timeline for such registration must be agreed.

Skills and Knowledge:

The candidate must indicate experience with the following software's: AutoCAD, TeleCAD GIS (Advantageous), QGIS, Building Information Modelling (i.e. BIM 360), Monday.com, MS Co-Pilot, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Projects. Strong understanding of telecom network planning principles and standards. Proficiency in network planning tools and software (e.g., QGIS, Python, TeleCAD GIS). In-depth knowledge of fibreoptic system architectures (advantageous).*
Expertise in link budget calculations and propagation modelling. Experience with electrical design including System Integration, Electrical Design, Control and Monitoring, Safety and Compliance and Optimization and Efficiency. Integrate PLCs for advanced control and automation of motor operations. Design efficient power distribution systems to manage and control multiple motors. Incorporate HMIs for real-time monitoring and control of motor conditions. Optimize energy usage to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Exercise a high level of EQ and showcase resilience. Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the telecom industry.
