Minimum Requirement

• Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of Electrical design and Project Engineering experience.
• At least 1 year experience in solar PV design.
• Must have MV and LV experience.
• Must have good technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Candidate will be involved with various phases of projects i.e. FEED (feasibility), Basic Design, Detail Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, End of Job.
• Acting as discipline lead on projects.
• Managing the execution of project scope in accordance with the project schedule and within budget.
• Interdisciplinary interfacing and attention to change management.
• Interfacing with suppliers, vendors, client.
• Mentoring of junior engineers.
• Assist with value added engineering, continuous improvement on projects and internal discipline work methods and procedures.
• Review of project scope of work and technical specifications.
• Cost estimating, man-hours estimates and Write-Ups, Scope of Work documents and specifications.
• Development of deliverables schedule of all documents and drawings within the scope of work.
• Development of project schedules.
• Development of basic and detailed engineering packages based on Client, Local, and International standards.
• Focused on building good client relations.
• Professional sign-off on electrical designs (advantageous).
• Specific required skills in terms of software packages:
• ETAP (Load flow, short circuit, motor starting, harmonic, protection grading, ARC flash rating, cable sizing)

• DigSilent (advantageous)
• Relux
• MS Projects
• CAD basic skills
