Job Description

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, with a core focus on power distribution and power quality. You will work alongside product and automation specialists to deliver technical solutions to the industrial and commercial sector, support ongoing R&D, and be a key contributor in the evolution of our energy portfolio. This is not just a design office job: you will have a real impact across technical support and solution architecture, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical System Design:

• Lead the design and specification of electrical and automation projects, with a strong emphasis on power distribution, power quality correction, and MCC assemblies.
• Use CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) to produce and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and layouts.
• Project Execution & Solution Architecture:

• Participate in solution architecture and execution, from initial feasibility and costing to handover and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Managers, Proposal Engineers, and product specialists.
• Product & Technical Support:

• Provide level 3 technical support for the power product portfolio, acting as an expert resource for both customers and internal teams.
• Aid in technical investigations, application support, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Research & Development:

• Engage in the research, development, and enhancement of new and existing product solutions within the power and energy markets.
• Business Development:

• Support the sales team with technical input on proposals and customer engagements.
• Identify opportunities to drive growth in the power/energy business unit.
• Team & Stakeholder Management:

• Assist the Engineering Manager with team deliverables, freeing up management capacity and mentoring Junior Engineers as required.
• Continuous Learning:

• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies relevant to electrical power distribution and automation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience (with at least 2 years in a design engineering role), focused on power distribution and power quality.
• Exposure to automation systems is highly advantageous.
