Job Description

To repair maintain and services electric forklifts as well as pallet trucks , as well as repairing and maintaining diesel forklifts

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair:

Performing routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, filter replacements) and repairs on diesel and electric forklifts.

Diagnostics:

Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Diesel Engine Expertise:

Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.

Electric Motor Knowledge:

Understanding and repairing electric motors, batteries, charging systems, and control systems.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.

Safety Compliance:

Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.

Collaboration:

Working effectively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.

Staying Updated:

Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and repair techniques for forklifts.
Skills and Qualifications:

Mechanical Aptitude:

A strong understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.

Electrical Knowledge:

Familiarity with electrical circuits, components, and troubleshooting techniques.

Hydraulic Systems:

Understanding of hydraulic systems and their components.

Diesel Engine Knowledge:

Experience working with diesel engines and their related systems.

Electric Motor Knowledge:

Understanding electric motors, batteries, and related systems.

Trade Certification:

A relevant trade test certificate (e.g., Millwright, Diesel Mechanic) is often required.

Experience:

Typically requires 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Attention to Detail:

The ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain accurate records.

Communication Skills:

Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and explain issues to customers.
