The e-learning specialist is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining e-learning programs and solutions for the organization. The goal of the e-learning specialist is to create engaging and effective digital learning experiences that will enhance users' knowledge and skills.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, information technology, or a related field.
SDF certification.
5-6 years related experience.
Valid driver's license with own reliable transport.
Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or multimedia content creation.
Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, or Camtasia.
Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or TalentLMS.
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).
E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate from recognized organizations.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, particularly for managing large-scale e-learning projects.
Instructional Design Expertise: Knowledge of adult learning theories.
Technology Proficiency: Ability to use e-learning authoring tools, multimedia editing software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro), and web development basics (e.g. HTML, CSS) to create and manage content.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Creativity: Ability to develop engaging and innovative digital learning materials.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with SMEs, developers, and users.
Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and troubleshoot issues.
Data Analysis: Ability to analyse user data, feedback, and learning outcomes to enhance course effectiveness.
Adaptability: Ability to keep pace with evolving technologies and trends in the e-learning space.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring high quality and accuracy in course design and technical implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Design and Develop E-Learning Content:
Create instructional materials, including interactive modules, video content, assessments, and quizzes.
Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate) to design engaging e-learning courses.
Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create effective online learning experiences.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate learning objectives into e-learning content.
Design learning paths and develop structured e-learning programs that align with organizational goals.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
Set up, manage, and maintain LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) to deliver e-learning courses.
Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues in the LMS, ensuring a smooth user experience.
Track learner progress and performance and generate reports from the LMS.
Multimedia Production
Create multimedia elements (audio, video, graphics) to enhance the learning experience.
Edit videos, record voiceovers, and create animations to ensure high-quality content delivery
Evaluation and Assessment:
Develop assessments to measure learners' understanding of course materials.
Analyze assessment results and feedback to improve course design.
Conduct usability testing to gather feedback on course functionality and content clarity.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on e-learning trends, tools, and technologies.
Implement feedback from learners and instructors to improve content quality and user experience.
Experiment with new teaching methods and technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) or gamification, to enhance engagement.
Project Management
Manage e-learning projects, timelines, and deliverables.
Work with cross-functional teams, such as instructional designers, IT, and developers, to execute e-learning initiatives.
Ensure courses are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
Administration & Reporting
Monthly reporting on training conducted as well as training planned.
