Job Summary
Job description/responsibilities:
- Design and implement the structure of online courses using eLearning tools, such as instructional software and applications.
- Take the blueprint for the course, including content that has been created by an instructional developer, and design and code the lessons.
- Duties and responsibilities are to make the lessons visually appealing and engaging while effectively conveying the lessons to students or users.
- Communicate with all stakeholders, including the instructional designer, subject matter experts, and other members of the development team.
- Effectively communicate with the end-users of the eLearning courses.
- Spend time staying up to date with new technologies that can be used to create eLearning courses.
- Essential for the developer to be able to take on different roles as needed.
- Manage own time and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric). Relevant qualifications/certificates in Learning Management Systems (LMS)/Computer Programming/ Instructional Design will be advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in eLearning development.
Skills:
- Must be able to take the vision of the instructional designer and turn it into an engaging and interactive eLearning course.
- Must be able to articulate storyline.
- Good user experience (UX) design practices.
- Graphic design and multimedia editing capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a good understanding of adult learners and how they learn best.
- Must be familiar with different learning theories and instructional design models.
- Able to work independently.
- Must be familiar with different programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
