We are seeking a visionary Visual Arts Teacher who is passionate about inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and artistic excellence. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the High School Principal, the incumbent will be responsible to:
1.Design and deliver comprehensive, CAPS-aligned Visual Arts and Creative Arts (Grades 8-12) lesson plans that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and artistic excellence.
2.Integrate technology and contemporary practices into learning experiences to deepen students' engagement with visual culture.
3.Foster artistic expression while connecting visual arts to real-world contexts and broader cultural understanding.
4.Assess student performance with a focus on both creative development and academic achievement, providing actionable, constructive feedback.
5.Lead or participate in extracurricular activities and artistic projects that extend learning beyond the classroom, such as exhibitions, art clubs, or community art initiatives.
6.Collaborate with colleagues to maintain curriculum integrity, share resources, and contribute to a culture of continuous professional growth.
7.Stay current with educational and artistic trends, incorporating innovative methodologies, digital tools, and best practices in arts education.
Key Requirements:
1.A relevant bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (preferred).
2.Registered with SACE, adhering to its standards and ethics.
3.Strong knowledge of Visual Arts and Creative Arts Curricula (CAPS-aligned).
4.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5.Passion for working with students from socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
6.Competence in facilitating higher ,order thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning.
7.Applicants must be willing to obtain the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification within six months of appointment and maintain active status as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE).
