Job Description
The ability to teach in the fields of:
- Construction Management
- Quantity Surveying
- Facility Management
- Construction Health & Safety
Incorporate teaching & learning, research & innovation, and community engagement outcomes into the academic project.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum requirements:
Lecturer:
- A Master's degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying. All base qualifications must be in Construction Management or Building or Quantity Surveying
- At least 2 years relevant teaching experience in higher education or 2 years industrial experience in the Built Environment.
- Registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions or the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession is recommended.
- Lecturing on the ECP Diploma levels.
- Curriculum development,
- Academic development,
- Academic administration,
- Conducting research and postgraduate supervision,
- Participation in SACPCMP and SACQSP professional body accreditation,
- Participation in Quality Assurance activities,
- Participation in Industry Advisory Committees & partnerships,
- Personal & professional development.
- Assisting with Community engagement, WIL and service learning initiatives,
- Assisting with recruitment, admissions and marketing.
- Knowledge and understanding of the latest technology and developments in the field of construction management, quantity surveying or facility management
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of continuous evaluation and integrated assessment
- Strong learner focus
- Adaptability
- Interpersonal skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
