Job Summary
As our E-Commerce Manager, you will be the driving force behind our Shopify online store, handling everything from product management and site optimization to marketing campaigns and promotions. You'll ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers, manage inventory updates, and spearhead initiatives to boost visibility and sales. This is a hands-on role requiring creativity, technical proficiency with Shopify, and a results-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities

• Product Management: Upload new products to the Shopify store, including descriptions, images, and specifications. Manage inventory quantities, pricing updates, and stock levels to ensure accuracy and availability.
• Site Optimization: Maintain and enhance the look and feel of the website, including rearranging products, managing navigation tabs, and strategically placing new arrivals or featured items for maximum visibility and user engagement.
• Inventory and Photography Coordination: Monitor incoming stock at the warehouse, coordinate with teams to send items for professional photography, and upload high-quality images and details to the site as quickly as possible.
• Marketing and Advertising: Develop and execute marketing strategies, including campaigns for new product launches. Create and manage advertising efforts across digital channels to drive traffic and conversions.
• Email Marketing: Design, schedule, and analyze email campaigns (mailers) to nurture customer relationships, promote offers, and re-engage past buyers.
• Promotions and Sales Initiatives: Plan and implement promotions such as sales drives, discounts, clearance events, and special offers. Track performance and adjust strategies to optimize revenue.
• Performance Monitoring: Use Shopify analytics and other tools to monitor site performance, customer behavior, and sales metrics. Provide regular reports and recommendations for improvements.
• Customer Experience: Ensure the online store is user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and aligned with brand standards. Handle any escalated issues related to the e-commerce platform.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience managing an e-commerce store, preferably on Shopify (certification or portfolio a plus).
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, social media advertising, and email marketing tools
• Proficiency in graphic design or photo editing software for basic site enhancements
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines, especially for new stock uploads.
• Knowledge of inventory management and basic warehouse logistics.
• Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, E-Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Familiarity with South African consumer trends and e-commerce regulations is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for creating compelling product descriptions and marketing content.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years in e-commerce management or a similar role.
• Experience with Shopify apps for inventory, marketing automation, and promotions.
• Track record of successfully launching products and running profitable campaigns.
