Job Summary We have an exciting 12 months contract position for an ECI Engineer , located in Modderfontein and at clientxc3xa2xe2x82xacs site when required. The purpose of the role is: To utilize technical and managerial skills to liaise with different disciplines in turning process and project requirements into electrical, control system and instrumentation (ECI) design parameters. To initiate, prepare, supervise and approve the basic and detailed ECI engineering design, interface with the Engineer representatives under Design and Build contracts and the suppliers and subcontractors for the fabrication/ construction. Degree or Diploma in electrical or electronic engineering. Minimum of ten years of experience as an ECI Engineer in water treatment, turnkey projects or a similar field. Must have water treatment experience (Advantageous) Computer literacy in the Google Workspace tools (i.e. google Docs Sheets). Experience with Cloud Computing, such as DocuSign. Have good communication and organizational skills. Assist with preparation of P IDxc3xa2xe2x82xacs and design documentation including plant layout design. Preparation of single line diagrams, electrical load list, IO lists, alarm and trip lists, trip matrixes, control architecture, loop diagrams, MCC/PLC cabinet layouts, etc. Obtain cost estimates for Instrumentation, Control systems, Electrical motor control centers, including estimates for Installation and Commissioning of all items related to ECI. Carry out all the design and procurement work in accordance with client specifications. Assessment of client specifications to prepare proposals/reports on cost-saving alternatives. Coordination of ECI concessions, technical proposals and variation orders on projects. Assist with the preparation of Process Control Philosophy and Functional Design Specification documentation. Assist with the specification of PLC, SCADA and/or Human Machine Interfaces during project execution phase. Preparing detailed ECI Bill of Materials. ECI equipment and subcontract scope of work specification. Technical and commercial adjudication of ECI subcontractor proposals ECI subcontractor evaluation. Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices. Monitor and review hardware and software products relating to automation and information technologies. Keep current in automation and network computing technology trends. Represent the company during meetings. Facilitate and perform factory acceptance tests (hardware and software). Provide project-specific input to Lead Engineers and Project Managers to resolve construction issues during site work. Hot and cold commissioning assistance, including coordination of ECI pre-commissioning activities e.g. punching, loop checking and sign-off of check sheets. Maintain currency of professional competence and specialist knowledge. Quality Health Safety Ensure health and safety legislation and contractual obligations pertaining to health safety are adhered to throughout the project. Read and understand the ISO 9001:2015 manual for the procedures pertaining to the Engineering and Projects Division. External Relations Continuously liaise with the client on all technical or contractual aspects of the project Interact with partners or suppliers. Attend all training seminars pertaining to this position. Perform any other duties required by your designated Lead Engineer or Project Manager. Critical Cross Field Outcomes: Perform all duties to ISO 9001 Quality Standard requirements. Function as part of a team. Ensure total confidentiality of all information, internal and external, pertaining to the business and all its employees and management. Perform all necessary computer functions. Communicate with clients in a professional manner.
