RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
Supervising and leading the team.
Ensuring the safety of the team members.
Assigning team tasks.
Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioural expectations to ensure team morale and productivity.
Ensuring team compliance with company policies and procedures.
Planning and Scheduling
+ Translating general work requirements into a prioritising work plan for the team.
+ Work with the team to overcome work related challenges
+ Periodically review daily goals to meet the forecasted production.
Quality control
Recognising, addressing and resolving issues/ problem among or between employees in the team.
Promoting. Supporting and facilitating teamwork and harmony between all team members by fostering a positive attitude among all team members.
Administration
Maintain site foreman's report
Reporting on work progress
Preparing daily production records
Keep disciplinary report
Daily time and attendance report
Recommending workforce action such recruitment, releasing and discipline
Safety
Knowing and understanding the requirements of the MHSA
Facilitating mandatory safety toolbox meetings.
Ensuring completion of initial safety and hazards assessments
Participating in safety/incident investigations.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or Equivalent
Certificate in a skilled trade is advantageous
Experience
At least three years relevant experience in respect of supervising construction teams.
Earthworks working experience.
Other specific knowledge & skills require.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent writing and reporting skills
Good planning and organisational skill
Knows and understand the OHSA/MHSA and safety and environmental issues.
Knows and understands the company projects safety projects.
