Position Purpose:

To be conversant with all aspects of the Employee Wellness Programme so as to provide Line with appropriate guidance and

support when dealing with employees. Market the use of these various EAP services so that Line can optimize the

productivity of employees by showing support and commitment to the employees wellbeing. Manage and monitor the

implementation of the various EWP Services.

Position outputs:

Manage and Lead the Employee Wellness Programme Function at a local/site level.

Manage the implementation and roll-out of all various Wellness Services & Programmes as per the national roll-out and

implementation plan.

Interpret and fully understand the various Employee Wellness policies, processes, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Interface with other business partners like employee relations, recruitment, training administration, etc.

Be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and implementation of all Wellness interventions like Wellness days,

Education Sessions, Training Sessions etc.

Manage the professional relationships between Transnet, Service Providers, Human Resources, Line Management, and

the employees.

Manage the swift resolution of queries

Provide constant and ongoing coaching and support to:

Local management regarding the usage and application of various aspects of Wellness services to maximize the benefits

offered to employees.

EWP Practitioners regarding their role and responsibilities within the Wellness Function.

Ensure local stakeholders support for the Wellness Function by regularly engaging and communicating with them.

Manage the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of Wellness implementation plans.

Be responsible for the implementation of training sessions/education sessions/workshops / wellness days or any other

Wellness related initiative by:

Managing the coordination of various tasks with relevant providers/facilitators.

Manage the EWP Practitioners and their responsibilities regarding the Wellness interventions.

Managing the logistical arrangements for these sessions as initiated by the EWP Practitioners.

Communicate and create awareness of these sessions amongst the relevant stakeholders.

Compile reports where requested after completion of these interventions.

Conduct training as and when required on Wellness related topics and manage the facilitation skills levels of EWP

Practitioners so that they can assist with training.

Support and assist Employee Wellness Programme Practitioners (EWPP) in their role as implementers of the Wellness

Services.

Integrate Wellness issues into Human Resources by interpreting these issues and integrating it into Human Resources

processes.

Support and guide managers and/or EWP Practitioners with concerns/uncertainties on how to deal with troubled

employees.

Manage the relationship between the local area/region and the service provider representatives/accounts managers.

Manage the implementation of recommendations made by specialists / counsellors.

Manage communication across service providers

Provide feedback on a regular basis Analyse and/ or summarize reports received from service providers.

Manage the distribution of information through the appropriate channels to relevant stakeholders.

Update local management and National EWP Manager of Wellness Reporting outcomes.

Provide any additional feedback as required by the National Employee Wellness Manager and/or Transnet Corporate

Office.

Manage a budget.

Manage the local Wellness budget in accordance with contract agreements and internal standards.

Monitor performance against budget.

Report on variances and take corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

Possession of Diploma/ Degree in Social Sciences/ related and equivalent.

Registration with any of the following Councils or Bodies or any relevant one that is not listed:

South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP);

Employee Assistance Profession South Africa (EAPSA);

South African Nursing Council (SANC);

Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

Experience in Chronic Disease Management

Experience in EAP Management

Experience in managing incapacity due to ill-health

5 years relevant Wellness experience
