Rent2Rent is not a traditional estate agency.
We are a
professional tenant / professional landlord operator
working in the
guaranteed-rent (rent-to-rent)
space. We:
Take over properties from owners (especially stressed or struggling ones)
Guarantee their rent
Deal with tenants, maintenance, and risk
Operate as the
counterparty

What This Role Actually Looks Like
This is a
Durban CBD rentals operator
role.
You will be moving around town, on foot and by transport, doing the real work that makes the city's rental market function:
Walking to buildings, doing
viewings and inspections
Opening doors, checking units, following up after repairs
Talking to caretakers, security, body corporates, landlords, and tenants
Spotting early when something is going wrong in a unit or building
Keeping an eye on "problem buildings" and making sure our units don't become part of the chaos
Feeding back accurate information so we can make
good risk decisions
You are our
eyes and ears in Durban CBD

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
Lives in Durban CBD
(or is genuinely willing to move into Durban city to be able to walk to viewings, buildings, and inspections)
Has
previous rentals experience in Durban
, ideally:
Working with letting agents, building managers, or landlords
Handling viewings, tenant check-ins, key handovers, inspections, or arrears follow-up
Understands
basic property maintenance and repairs
You know what a "small issue" is vs something that will explode later
You can speak to contractors and caretakers in practical language
Personal qualities:
Young, serious, and
hungry to learn
Values
trust and long-term relationships
Comfortable walking around town, checking on units and buildings alone
Not scared of "difficult" buildings or tenants, but sensible and safety-conscious
Calm, observant, and reliable - you
do what you say you'll do
Minimum Requirements
Based in
Durban City Centre
, or willing to live in the CBD/inner city to start
Solid, proven
rentals experience in Durban
(not theory)
Matric
with Mathematics and English
Good spoken and written English; isiZulu and/or isiXhosa a big advantage
Practical understanding of
property maintenance and repairs
Stable home environment, sober habits
Good personal integrity and reputation -
trust is key
Decent credit record (we check)
Tech-savvy enough to use:
WhatsApp properly (obviously)
Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
Basic Excel/spreadsheet skills
Having your
own car
is an advantage for growth beyond the CBD, but in the early phase we expect you to
move mostly on foot in Durban city
, getting to know our units and buildings very closely.
