Job Description

We are hiring a DTP Operator for one of the leading creative agencies in South Africa. You will be working with a team of talented designers, pre-production staff, and project managers to deliver stunning and effective solutions for clients across various industries.

Responsibilites:

• Performing DTP Make-Up, Layout, Basic Design Changes, Basic Finished Art and Pre-flighting of Repro Artwork / PDFs using the in-house workflow systems / programs
• Working and knowledge of printing processes to ensure print feasibility, colour adjustments and appropriate repro / print production / filing techniques.
• Following correct job / task briefings and applying corrections accordingly
• Supplying high-res pdf files / Web Proofs / Printed colour proofs using the agreed workflow methods
• Conducting quality checks of repro and prototypes prior to client presentation or production
• Conducting comprehensive server filing and regular system housekeeping
• Capturing information regarding time on PrintVis for costing purposes
• Consulting and reviewing with designers, pre-pro staff, sales, estimating and production.

Required:

• A tertiary qualification in DTP and/or 2-3 years relevant experience in DTP / Repro
• Portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience.
• A sound knowledge of the printing industry
• Basic numeracy skills & good eyesight
• Advantageous - Print / POP Production / Technical Studio Experience
• Advantageous - Apple Mac Proficiency

Remuneration:

• R12 000 - R20 000 Cost to Company (Dependent on experience)
• Provident Fund Contribution
