The National Sea Rescue Institute will appoint an experienced Drowning Prevention Instructor to be based in Vredendal, Western Cape.
The NSRI has 50+ stations, satellite stations and Lifeguard premises across a volunteer network spanning 1500+ volunteers.

Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate must have:
Matric/ Equivalent
The ability to swim 25m unassisted
The ability to retrieve a submerged object to a minimum depth of 1.5m
A Learn-to-swim and/or Lifeguarding Qualification will be advantageous.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven administration skills
Computer skills including (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Experience in teaching swimming and water safety
An ability to handle with pressure
Time management proficiency
The ability to take initiative and work independently
An innovative attitude to researching background information required for input to the operational requirements of survival swimming and water safety lessons.
The incumbent should be willing to travel to disadvantaged areas to teach water safety and survival swimming
Character traits should include enthusiasm, integrity, patience, self-control, loyalty, confidentiality, and a positive outlook on life.
A valid driver's license will be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities
The working hours may vary between mornings and afternoons
The incumbent will be required to teach survival swimming as per our protocols
Booking appointments with schools
Teaching water safety at schools as per our lesson structure
* Conducting administrative tasks, such as data capturing, data processing, etc. (This will be a large component of the job)
