The driver contributes to the AHFxe2x80x99s mission by enabling other team members to be mobile, for example when going to meetings or travelling to sites. The driver also enables delivery of items from one point to another, such as documents, laboratory samples and medical supplies. The contribution of the driver enables the AHF to be nimble.
The driver also contributes to the safety of all team members. The driver is mandated to ensure motor vehicles are roadworthy, to plan motor vehicle service schedules as well as ensuring that all motor vehicle insurance certificates and licenses are valid. An AHF driver is also required to be of sober character and is not expected to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The driver further contributes to the organisationxe2x80x99s prudent expenditure and protection of company assets. The driver monitors trip mileage and accounts for fuel consumption, enabling accountability and reducing wastage. It is also the role of the driver to ensure that vehicles are adequately fueled and serviced all year round.
