Purpose of the Role

The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within and around the testing station, ensuring that all vehicles are handled with care and in compliance with company policies and road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Safely drive customer vehicles into and out of the testing bays and parking areas. Assist with arranging vehicles in order of testing schedule. Ensure vehicles are handled responsibly and returned in the same condition as received. Check that vehicles meet basic safety requirements before moving (e.g., brakes, steering). Report any damages, irregularities, or concerns immediately to the supervisor. Assist examiners and staff with vehicle positioning during roadworthy tests. Maintain cleanliness and order in the vehicle movement areas. Comply with all road safety rules and company policies.

Requirements

Valid South African driver's license (Code 8 or higher preferred). Proven driving experience with a clean driving record. Knowledge of road safety rules and vehicle handling. Punctual, reliable, and responsible. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills.

Working Conditions

Based at the Vehicle Testing Station. May be required to work Saturdays or extended hours depending on demand. Work involves frequent movement of different types of vehicles (manual and automatic).

Performance Indicators

Safety of vehicle handling (no accidents/damages). Efficiency in vehicle movement and support to examiners. Punctuality and reliability. Compliance with company procedures.
