Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE




To ensure the efficient and safe transportation of personnel, documents, equipment, and supplies across various company sites, contributing to the smooth daily operations of the Facilities Department. The Facilities Driver is responsible for maintaining the company vehicle in a roadworthy condition, adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and assisting with basic facilities support tasks when not driving.


The driver serves as a key support role in ensuring timely deliveries, inter-office mobility, and coordination between Head Office and various site offices including Koeberg, ATKSS, all site offices, and Atlantis PV Solar Plant.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS



Safe Transportation



Transport personnel, equipment, and documents between locations safely Adhere strictly to road safety laws and traffic regulations Maintain zero preventable accidents and traffic violations

Timely Deliveries & Pickups



Follow daily transport schedules and coordinate delivery times Ensure no late deliveries and minimize client complaints Plan efficient routes and manage time effectively

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety



Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections Report vehicle faults or damage immediately Ensure vehicles are always clean and roadworthy Coordinate timely servicing and license renewals

Facilities Support



Assist with minor facilities duties when not driving (moving equipment, setting up rooms, etc.) Provide quick response to ad hoc tasks as required Support team objectives and maintain positive working relationships

Record Keeping



Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks including mileage, fuel usage, and service dates Monitor and ensure all logbooks are completed by all drivers Submit trip reports and maintain complete documentation

Professional Conduct



Represent the company professionally when dealing with external parties Uphold company values in all interactions Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code

QUALIFICATION



Matric / NQF Level 4 Valid Driver's License (Code 08 or higher) Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

EXPERIENCE



2-3 years' experience in a similar role (transport/logistics or facilities support) Familiarity with office and site environments

COMPETENCIES



Knowledge



Road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques Familiarity with office and site logistics operations Basic record-keeping procedures (trip sheets, fuel logs) Knowledge of relevant delivery protocols including document signing and secure transport Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements
