Overall objective of Job Function

A restaurant driver in South Africa is primarily responsible for safely and efficiently delivering food and sometimes other restaurant supplies to customers or other locations. This includes adhering to traffic laws, maintaining the vehicle, and providing excellent customer service. They may also be involved in loading and unloading goods and handling payments upon delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery:

Transporting food and potentially other supplies from the restaurant to customers or other locations.

Vehicle Operation:

Safely operating a vehicle (car, motorcycle, etc.) in various weather and traffic conditions.

Navigation:

Using GPS and knowledge of local routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

Customer Service:

Interacting with customers in a polite and professional manner, potentially handling payments and providing receipts.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Conducting routine checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues, and ensuring the vehicle is well-maintained.

Order Management:

Verifying orders before delivery, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining delivery logs.

Loading and Unloading:

Assisting with loading and unloading of goods, including potentially handling pallets.

Compliance:

Adhering to traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.

Additional Considerations:

Code 10 Drivers:

Some positions may require a Code 10 driver's license (or higher), especially for larger vehicles or deliveries.

Delivery Apps:

Many drivers utilize delivery apps like Mr D, which require a smartphone and data plan.

Teamwork:

Some delivery roles may involve working as part of a team, especially for larger deliveries or when relocating vehicles.

Safety:

Ensuring the safety of themselves, the vehicle, and other road users is paramount.

Requirements:

GRADE 12

South African Identity Document Minimum of 3 years relevant experience Valid South African Driver's License
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R7965,00 - R8000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
