Job Advert Summary

PURPOSE



Tp create accurate technical drawings, blls of materials and machine programs, in supporting sales for pricing customers and support production planning for efficient and timely manufacturing.





This role will be shared by Trading Germiston South and Tube and Pipe but will be situated at Macsteel Germiston South.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum grade 12



NQF Level 6 Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Structural Steel Detailing / Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice essential



Minimum 3 years operational experience in Draughting / Structural / Mechanical design essential.



Minimum 1 year expediting experience will be advantageous



Minimum 1 year production planning experience will be advantageous



Valid driver;s licence essential



Knowledge of structural steel would be an added advantage.



Knowledge of the SAP system would also be an added advantage



Ability to work without direct supervision



Ability to interact with role players at all levels of the organization and outside the organization.



High degree and sense of customer service.



Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communication skills



Strong leadership skills



Strong judgement and decision-making skills.



Ability to collaborate across departmental boundaries within and outside the organizationT

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Specification

The following Key Performance Areas are covered by the position:

Reading and interpretation of customers drawings for quotation purposes.



Revise and amend existing drawings when required on system.



Consider the optimal use of material when nesting for production.



Work according to ISO standards.



Make and provide illustration drawings.



Create NC files/Machine programs from drawings for production on CNC Machinery.



Assist with Production Planning when required.
