Job Description

Key responsibilities:


oPlanning and coordinating the digitisation of materials stored or transferred to the CRO


oAssessing, evaluating and prioritising materials for digitisation


oCapturing and importing digitised materials into document management systems


oQuality control the digitisation material captured on the system


oDigital preservation of digitised and born digital materials in the CRO


oDeveloping and documenting procedures and best practices for digitisation


oDocument business processes for clients within CRO and advise on the development and configuring document management systems


oAssist the CRO Manager to manage the document management systems projects within CRO


oCoordinate the implementation of SharePoint site within CRO


oTrain staff in digitisation and any other related software when required


oAssist the CRO Manager with supervision of staff responsible for digitisation on the system



Requirements:


oBSc Computer Science, or a B.Com Information Systems, or a B. Information Management/ Information Science degree (NQF level 7) or a Diploma in Information Technology, preferably B. Tech Information Technology (NQF level 7).


oAt least three to five years post qualification experience, preferably in a Higher Education Environment.


oApplicants must have practical trackable experience in electronic content/ document management systems.


oApplicants must have business analysis and system analysis experience


oApplicants must have good computer literacy e.g. Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams


oApplicants must have advanced excel skills such as VLOOKUP, index match, Pivot tables and reporting and VBA and Macros.



Preferences:


oBSc Computer Science, or a B.Com. Information Systems, or a B. Information Management/ Information Science degree (NQF level 7).


oA minimum of 3 years proven experience in digital asset management/enterprise content management systems/ document management /information management systems, preferably, in a higher education environment.


oKnowledge of best practices for imaging, analog to digital media conversion, metadata skills; ability to manage and maintain a digital collections repository


oPractical document management experience including capture, indexing and quality control of documents


oExperience with digital asset management systems, preferably Hyland OnBase ECM and SharePoint


oExcellent written and oral communication skills


oProblem solving skills


oPeople management and empowerment


oAnalytical and critical thinking


oPay attention to detail, maintain confidentiality and professionalism.


oDemonstrated ability to priorities tasks


oGood report writing and presentation skills


oProject Management Skills
