The position of Divisional General Manager: Commercial Eggs is responsible for the following:
  • Assist with the design, develop and obtaining approval of the Division's strategic and business plans, ensuring that such plans are aligned with the Group's goals and objectives.
  • Actively support the Divisional Director in leading the Division to execute and achieve the required goals and objectives set in terms of the strategic, business, and financial plans.
  • Assign to the respective business units, goals and targets and continually measure and review performance being made towards achieving such, taking appropriate action where necessary.
  • In conjunction with the Divisional Director organize the necessary input, structure, and resources for delivering on the Division's agreed goals and outputs.
  • Ensure that financial performance and profit are maximized across all business units, and the Division as a whole.
  • Ensure that Kuipers Group policies, procedures and standards are consistently complied with, within the Division.
  • Assist with Implementing a comprehensive customer handling and satisfaction programme throughout the Division, focusing on, and providing excellent customer service, and monitor the execution thereof and results being achieved.
  • Successfully oversee the establishment and management of a Culling Programme and Point of Lay Programme for the Division.
  • Support the Divisional Director in oversee the planning and implementation of production plans; coordinating and drive production accordingly to quality and quantity specifications as well as set operational standards, within cost objectives.
  • Actively seek out, and discuss with the Divisional Director, viable opportunities to grow and expand the business of the Division, based on proper risk and due diligence assessments.
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations and logistics of all business units ensuring that operations run smoothly, to standard, and stock control and financial discipline is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure compliance within the Division of all Quality Management Standards, Bio-Security Standards, and Industry based legislative regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance within the Divisions of all aspects relating to Animal welfare.
  • Ensure compliance within the Divisions of all aspects relating to all Environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist with the proper management of all aspect of the Human Resources function within the Division, including ensuring compliance with all Labour Legislation, succession management, performance management, training, payroll, administration, employment equity, and adhering to established Group Human Resources policies, procedures, and fair practices.
  • Develop sound and ongoing proactive relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, and ensure effective communication and interaction with them.
  • To continually seek new and innovative methods, systems, techniques, and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, and adhere to best practice.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to all employees, ensuring high morale, team work, ethics, and sound employee relations.
  • Assist the Divisional Director in developing and executing on Divisional and business unit, marketing, and sales programmes in order to maximize sales, brand awareness, competitive pricing, and increase overall market share.
  • In conjunction with the Divisional Director maintain an effective Divisional communication system, focusing on ensuring that both internal and external role players are kept properly informed, and allowing for two-way consultations/participation.
  • Create a safe and healthy working environment across the Division by actively implementing and participating in the Group's Occupational Health and Safety program, ensuring compliance with set procedures, practices, and standards.
  • Provide stakeholders, as and when required, with the necessary information and reports needed for purpose of analysis, decision making and governance responsibilities.
  • Assist by ensuring that sound financial practices are maintained on a day-to-day basis, by overseeing that all financial policies, procedures, standards, and internal controls are complied with, and maintained in the Division, and all business units; inclusive of company budgets, variance analysis, audits, reporting, controlling of expenses/costs, administration, and management of working capital - debt / credit / stock management etc.

  • In the absence of the Divisional Director assuming the acting role; taking responsibility for all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Any special projects allocated by the Divisional Director, in terms of the planning, implementation and execution thereof.
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be required by your senior, from time to time (Omnibus Clause)
