Divisional Assistant Accountant Finance

Assistant Accountant (Divisional)
We are seeking a skilled Divisional Assistant Accountant to support the aggregation, review, and delivery of financial information across multiple business units. The role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to governance standards, and smooth coordination of finance inputs within agreed reporting cycles. This position also contributes to strengthening financial processes and driving ongoing efficiency improvements.
Minimum Criteria

• Grade 12 / Matric
• BCom degree (or similar qualification) with a major in Finance

Core Duties & Accountabilities
Divisional & Management Reporting

• Compile and consolidate monthly divisional financial results
• Coordinate financial submissions from business units within set deadlines
• Prepare supporting schedules, working papers, and management reports
• Manage monthly financial uploads and reporting via SharePoint and Qlik

Budgeting & Forecast Support

• Maintain and update annual budgeting tools and templates
• Consolidate divisional budgets, including headcount information
• Perform reconciliations across budgeting and reporting systems (e.g. Finnivo, Qlik)

Financial Controls & Governance

• Adhere to internal financial policies and control frameworks
• Perform periodic reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
• Track control findings and follow up on corrective actions
• Uphold strong financial governance and compliance standards

Audit & Regulatory Support

• Compile and provide documentation for internal and external audits
• Assist with year-end audit requirements
• Support VAT reviews and statutory reporting (e.g. StatsSA, NAACAM)

Cashflow & Intercompany Accounting

• Prepare daily cash position reports and weekly cash forecasts
• Consolidate divisional cashflow forecasts with variance commentary
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve differences on a monthly basis

CAPEX & Fixed Assets

• Review monthly capital expenditure and fixed asset movements
• Maintain CAPEX registers and verify appropriate approvals

Operational & Industry Reporting

• Upload and validate monthly vehicle build and sales information
• Assist with operational, industry, and ad-hoc financial reporting
• Contribute to quarterly executive and board-level reporting

Process Improvement & Business Support

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
• Support the rollout of finance enhancements across business units
• Serve as a key finance support contact for business unit queries
