A fast paced, FSA accredited, successful family run, wholesale bakery serving the needs of the retail, food service and hospitality industry as well as regional and national distributors in South Africa. We specialise in a range of artisan breads, rolls and buns, brioche, croissants and Danish pastries, doughnuts as well as a range of small confectionery products. About the Role
The Distribution Manager is responsible for the
end-to-end management of dispatch and delivery operations
, ensuring that products are deliveredon time, in full, and to quality standards
, while maintaining strong operational controls. This role plays a critical part in aligningproduction output, delivery capacity, routing efficiency, and customer service expectations
. The successful candidate will lead dispatch teams, drive adherence to SOPs, manage distribution assets, and continuously improve delivery performance in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.Key Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously refine
Dispatch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Direct, manage, and monitor allloading and dispatch activities
to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance Analyse delivery volumes per customer andoptimise routing
in line with service requirements, delivery windows, and traffic patterns Ensure acustomer-centric approach
at all delivery and customer contact points Maintain a comprehensiveasset register
for all dispatch-related assets, including values, usage, maintenance, and control measures Engage regularly with dispatch and delivery staff throughindividual and group interactions
to drive performance, accountability, and moraleMinimum Requirements
Matric Qualification in
Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business
, or a related field (preferred) Minimum4 years' experience
in a dispatch or distribution role within theFMCG manufacturing environment
Experience working withinventory management systems
