Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher in our Distribution department. As a Dispatcher, you will play a key role in coordinating the efficient delivery of goods to our customers while ensuring timely communication with drivers and other relevant stakeholders.Tasks

• Coordinate and schedule delivery routes for drivers based on customer orders, delivery windows, and logistical considerations
• Monitor the progress of deliveries in real-time, ensuring adherence to schedules and making adjustments as needed
• Communicate with drivers via phone, radio, or electronic messaging systems to provide instructions, updates, and support
• Liaise with customer service representatives and warehouse staff to address any issues or changes to delivery orders
• Track and record delivery statuses, including any delays, deviations, or incidents, and escalate as necessary
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations throughout the dispatching process
• Assist in resolving logistical challenges and optimizing delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery manifests, and customer receipts

Requirements

• Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics coordination role, preferably in a distribution or transportation environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and instructions to drivers and other stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Proficiency in computer systems and software applications used for dispatching, routing, and tracking (e.g., GPS, dispatching software)
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, particularly in fast-paced or high-stress situations
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices related to dispatching and logistics
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus
