About the roleTo lead and manage the warehouse and dispatch operations, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of finished goods. Responsible for team development, regulatory and EHS compliance, inventory management, and continuous improvement to support business strategy and customer requirements.
Key responsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop warehouse and dispatch teams to consistently deliver outstanding safety, quality, service, and value. Set clear expectations for behavior and performance; provide regular feedback and conduct performance appraisals. Engage and inspire staff by sharing business vision and objectives. Prepare and maintain training matrices; ensure all staff are competent and trained on SOPs, EHS, and regulatory requirements. Oversee daily warehouse and dispatch operations, including receiving, picking, packing, checking, and shipping of finished goods. Ensure all transactions are completed accurately and timeously in SAP (MERP) or relevant systems. Maintain consumable inventories and manage administrative tasks (e.g., stock returns, pallet reconciliation). Liaise with other departments (e.g., Planning, QA, Production, Engineering) and external partners to support operational needs. Completes reasonable duties and related ad-hoc projects when required. Ensure compliance with EHS, QMS, GMP, and regulatory standards; maintain current SOPs and participate in audits (SAHPRA, ISO, MHRA, etc.). Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation plans. Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and adverse events; share learnings and drive a culture of safety and compliance. Ensure environmental monitoring and proper handling of materials requiring special storage (flammable, refrigerated, etc.). Manages the ordering, receipt, issue and reconciliation of Chep Pallets monthly. Arranges fumigation of existing Euro Pallets (received with incoming material at Haleon). Manage security of finished goods, controlling access and ensuring proper documentation for all goods leaving the premises. Conduct regular stock counts and ensure inventory accuracy in line with policy. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, and shortages. Ensure that Dispatch personnel perform to applicable GMP, Regulatory and QMS standards & comply with SOPs. Ensure planned maintenance and validation of warehouse and dispatch equipment. Liaise with Engineering for repairs and upgrades; ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards. Identify workplace hazards in the Dispatch and related areas. Develop and implement mitigation plans to eliminate / reduce the hazard. Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, OE projects). Set target conditions and deliver improvements to meet future business needs. Use performance management processes and data to identify and resolve issues in real time. Manage area costs, inventory budgets, and contribute to financial planning. Support achievement of site strategy through effective resource utilization and team engagement.

Qualifications and skills
RequiredDiploma in Distribution Management, Warehouse Management or Materials Handling. Minimum of 5 years' experience within a distribution environment.

PreferredTertiary Education Forklift Driver's License will be an advantage.

Numeracy & accuracy - Aptitude for figures. Ability to work overtime and shifts work if required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Initiative and self-motivated. Computer proficient - knowledge of SAP (MERP) will be an advantage. Able to resolve problems and think logically.
