Duties

• Shipment Planning:
• Create daily dispatch schedules based on customer orders, production availability, and delivery deadlines.
• Assign trucks and drivers to specific deliveries, considering route optimization and capacity.
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely loading of steel products onto trucks.
• Logistics Management:
• Monitor shipment progress in real-time using tracking systems.
• Address any delivery delays or disruptions, coordinating with carriers and customers to resolve issues.
• Manage transportation costs by optimizing routes and loads.
• Quality Control:
• Verify that all steel products are properly inspected and meet quality standards before dispatch.
• Ensure proper documentation and labelling of shipments to maintain traceability.
• Team Leadership:
• Supervise and mentor a team of dispatchers, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient operations.
• Provide training to dispatchers on safety procedures, customer service standards, and dispatch software.
• Customer Service:
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules, updates, and any potential delays.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to deliveries.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure adherence to all transportation regulations, including load securement and driver hours of service.
• Monitor safety performance of drivers and implement safety initiatives.
