Experience
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on large-scale property transactions. o Demonstrated success in acquiring or leasing significant land parcels, ideally within the renewable energy, agricultural or rural property sector. o Experience relating to and building rapport with the farming community; a background rooted in farming or rural life is highly advantageous. o Consideration will be given to candidates with experience from the renewables sector in the region, provided they demonstrate a strong ability to build positive relationships with farmers.
Language
Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
Fluency in Afrikaans is essential.
Education
A Bachelor's degree from a reputable university in Real Estate, Business Administration, Law, Agriculture, or a related field. o A strong academic record is highly regarded for this senior role. Someone akin to a highly respected and successful estate agent specializing in farm properties, known for their integrity, local knowledge, and ability to connect with people, would be an ideal fit. A candidate who grew up on a farm and can genuinely relate to the challenges and perspectives of the farming community will be particularly well-suited.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive land lease strategies aligned with project requirements and company goals, with a particular focus on farming real estate.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing land acquisition team
Market Intelligence: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of the farming real estate market, identifying suitable land parcels and emerging opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with landowners, particularly farmers, ensuring transparent and respectful communication throughout the acquisition process.
Negotiation: Lead complex contract negotiations with landowners, demonstrating excellent selling skills and securing favourable terms for the company while ensuring ethical and fair dealings.
Due Diligence & Compliance: Oversee and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes, including legal, environmental, and financial assessments
