Job Summary
PURPOSE:
To support the Planning & Purchasing Department in achieving departmental objectives and to introduce cost saving measures to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the organisation.
PLEASE NOTE : Only those who come from Port Elizabeth are able to be considered for this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Purchasing or relevant field
- Two - Three years relevant experience in direct purchasing.
- Syspro Experience is advantageous
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail and Accuracy is essential
- Good knowledge of Syspro
- Detailed knowledge of MS Office (Excel; Word; Powerpoint)
- Purchase raw materials and components from assigned suppliers.
- Reviewing purchase orders and emailing and EDI them to suppliers.
- Monitoring to ensure the email and/or EDI is delivered.
- File and maintain purchase order records.
- Confirm and update expected ship/delivery dates on the system.
- Resolve purchase order errors as and when they occur.
- Daily review of Shipment Status Report and daily review of open purchase order
open orders. * Maintain safety stock levels, and maintain inventory levels within assigned target
limits. * Monitor and maintain supplier performance records.
- Work with Quality Engineering, Production and suppliers to resolve supplier quality
