Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and related systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Replace or repair parts such as fuel injectors, bearings, brakes, and valves.
Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure performance standards.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to identify faults.
Follow safety standards and environmental regulations during repair work.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and customers regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
Completion of a diesel mechanic apprenticeship or relevant trade school program.
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Technician, or similar role.
Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, fuel systems, and electrical diagnostics.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mechanical hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions.
Valid driver's license (CDL may be preferred for certain roles).
Work Environment:
Primarily garage or workshop setting; occasional field service work may be required.
May involve exposure to noise, grease, and heavy machinery.
Typically full-time, with overtime or on-call shifts depending on operational needs.
