Job Description

Complete vehicle fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
Experience in workshop environment in a role of rebuilding components.
On-site diagnostics and support
In-field diagnosis of driveline failures through applicable diagnosis systems.
On-site repairs of units where possible.
Commissioning of new and repaired transmissions in the machine/vessel.
Servicing of transmissions.
Road testing of repaired transmissions/axles
Disassemble transmission upon arrival at the workshop.
Clean all transmission parts.
Pack transmission components on trolley and/or in/on a box or pallet, ensuring all parts are stored together.
Strip and Assess Transmissions:
Assess transmission parts, grouping and marking parts that are and are not fit for further use.
Record failed parts through photographs stored on the company folder.
Determine root cause of failure and mark parts accordingly.
Create draft failure report to be sent to supervisor for approval.
Identify part numbers of components to be replaced.
Load parts requirements for a job on MRP system (i.e. Navision or system used at the time).
Willing and able to perform duties afterhours - as and when required,
Effective communicator internally and externally.
Determine route cause/primary failure on transmissions.
Accurate and effective field service diagnostics and on-site repairs.
Knowledge of diagnostics and reporting.
Accurate root cause identification for transmission/axle failures.
In-depth understanding of complete vehicles and the mechanical and electrical interdependence between components/systems.
Rebuild and assembly of transmissions/axles.
Testing of transmissions on testbench
Commissioning of repaired and new units.
Rebuild transmissions and components
Assembly of sub-assemblies.
Assembly of complete transmissions.
Ensure that transmissions are built quality standards. Ensure that all tolerances adhere to standards.
Record of the build process.
Test transmissions
Test transmissions on completion of build when needed.
Ensure that units are built according to specification.
Identify any deviations and address.
On completion of test, update electronic folder with test report.
Resolve breakdowns
Repair of units on vehicles/vessels as required, at customer premises or in the workshop.
Conduct thorough test drive with the customer, to ensure customer satisfaction.
Record findings
Customer liaison, keeping the customer up to date with field service repairs.
Ensure repair quality and customer satisfaction.
Ensure high house keeping and Health and safety standards.
Ability to work under pressure on variety of different products.
Valid drivers license and passport.
Able to sleep out when the job requires it.
