Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Diesel Mechanic responsible for the repairing and maintenance of all diesel/petrol motor vehicles, trucks, pumps, and tankers in a company. Diagnoses, identifies and rectifies mechanical problems on vehicle, truck and tanker. Plans work procedure. Knowledge on MAN , Mercedes , Scania and Volvo trucks. Fuel tanker knowledge on Pnumatics and ancillary equipment. Please refer to the minimum requirements, duties and responsibilities below for further information.
Minimum Requirements

• Understand preventative maintenance xe2x80xa2 Qualified Artisan by way of trade test or 5 year recognized apprentice. xe2x80xa2 Valid driver's license, preferably EC. xe2x80xa2 Own transport essential xe2x80xa2 Experience in fuel and chemical environment. xe2x80xa2 Experience in the servicing and maintenance of trucks and Bulk Fuel tankers xe2x80xa2 Must be prepared to work overtime on a regular basis xe2x80xa2 Must be prepared to be on standby to attend to breakdowns and accidents after hours xe2x80xa2 Comply and enforce company policies and health & safety legislation xe2x80xa2 Ability to work independently xe2x80xa2 Problem solving ability

Duties & Responsibilities

• Servicing of company vehicles to predefined checklists xe2x80xa2 Attend to breakdowns and carry out the necessary repairs on trucks xe2x80xa2 Apply Health & Safety rules and regulations in all aspects of job xe2x80xa2 Ensure vehicles are kept in line with legal requirements and company policies i.e. roadworthy etc. xe2x80xa2 Maintain a safe and clean working place at all times xe2x80xa2 Administer regular reporting to management regarding breakdowns, services etc xe2x80xa2 Perform ancillary duties to the above as determined by management on an ongoing basis
