Job Description
Our client has an opportunity available for a Diesel Mechanic based in Cape Town.
Requirements:
- Minimum matric.
- Certified Diesel Mechanic - Trade Certificate.
- 5+ years working experience.
- Experience working on Volvo and Mercedes trucks would be advantageous.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid PDP.
- Ability to:
- Work under pressure.
- Work standby.
- Work unsupervised majority of the time.
- Communicate both verbally and written on all levels - both internally and externally.
- Work as a team player.
- Solve problems.
- Work the following hours: 07h00 - 17h00.
- Prepared to work outside normal working hours - as and when required.
- Attention to detail always.
- Own reliable transport to and from work.
- Knowledge of trailers- essential.
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and air systems.
- Service and repair heavy duty vehicles.
- Replace parts.
- Attend to fault finding.
- Attend to the replacements of engines, gearboxes, brakes, clutches, etc.
- Inspect and check vehicles.
- Attend to bodywork repairs.
- Attend to mechanical and electric breakdowns.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic fault.
- Attend and repair all commercial vehicles.
