RPO's client is actively seeking a skilled Field Service Diesel Engine Specialist to join our client in Steelpoort, Limpopo. This is an exciting opportunity for a Red Seal Certified Diesel Mechanic with underground mining experience to provide expert maintenance and repair services for heavy mining equipment. If you have extensive knowledge of Deutz, Cummins, John Deere, and CAT engines, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines for heavy mining equipment and vehicles
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize performance
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical engine issues efficiently
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations in underground environments
- Provide exceptional on-site customer service as the primary representative of the company
- Work afterhours and be on-call as required by operational demands
- Maintain accurate service records and reports for all maintenance and repair work
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Non-negotiable Requirements:
- Red Seal Trade Certification (Diesel Mechanic or equivalent)
- 5+ years' experience servicing Deutz, Cummins, John Deere, and CAT engines
- 5+ years' underground mining industry experience
- Medically fit for underground work
- Valid driver's license
- Fluent in Afrikaans & English (written and verbal)
- Reside in/near Steelpoort or willing to relocate
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality
