DevOps Engineer - Rosebank/Hybrid - R1.2m PA

As a Senior Back-End Engineer / Architect, you'll be designing and building scalable, secure, cloud-native systems that power everything from high-volume apps to AI-driven decision engines.
If microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-first deployments are your playground, this role is calling your name.
? What You'll Do:
- Architect and develop robust, scalable back-end systems in Java & Spring Boot
- Design cloud-native solutions with AWS and containerized deployments
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs for performance and reliability
- Work with PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and Kafka in modern data-driven stacks
- Apply SOLID principles & design patterns to produce clean, elegant code
- Mentor teams and shape overall system design & technical strategy
- 10+ years of proven back-end development & architecture experience
- Deep Java & Spring Boot expertise (core concepts + design patterns)
- Strong knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven design
- Advanced database skills: relational + NoSQL, query optimisation, data modelling
- Hands-on with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- A problem-solver who values elegant, scalable architecture
- Tertiary qualification in IT preferred
- Influence the technical direction of a fast-scaling digital platform
- Hybrid setup in Sandton, Johannesburg
