Your Essential Skills: You'll be the DevOps maestro we're looking for if you possess the following skills:
Extensive IT application operations experience
Proven prowess in IT application integration, including REST APIs
Solid command of Linux and enterprise IT network know-how, with a focus on network security (firewalling)
Experience with container-based application virtualization, especially Docker
Programming skills, with a preference for Python
Proficiency in ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
Advantageous Skills to Impress Us: If you've got these skills up your sleeve, you'll be at the top of our list:
Familiarity with firewall rule management tools, preferably Tufin
Hands-on experience with IT orchestration & automation solutions like Rundeck and Ansible
Skills in an additional programming language, such as JavaScript
Operational management abilities, including long-term planning and propelling initiatives forward
Self-starter attitude with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to decipher business needs and translate them into actionable proposals and implementations
Agility in working methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and steering IT providers
Proficiency in release management processes and procedures
Comfortable engaging with customers, even when language barriers are present
Team player who can also shine independently, delivering top-notch results on time
Thrives under pressure and remains unflappable in any situation
Your Qualifications and Experience: To excel in this role, you'll need:
An IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications, backed by 5+ years of experience
Certification as a Linux Administrator
Programming certification
Solid enterprise IT network knowledge, with a focus on network security (firewalling)
Your Role and Responsibilities: As a DevOps Engineer (Expert), you'll be the driving force behind:
Developing and maintaining our Firewall rule management platform/application
Collaborating closely with stakeholders to meet technical and governance requirements
Preparing for Go-live and providing post Go-live support
Managing problems, changes, and incidents
Offering operational support for applications and other needs
Implementing and upholding internal controls that mitigate business risk while adhering to policies
Being adaptable and taking on various tasks within projects or work
Global travel (up to 2 weeks at a time) for international projects
Proactively suggesting solutions to enhance support for new business processes
Crafting and updating documentation in Confluence
Being available for standby, shift work, and public holiday coverage as required
Documenting known errors and solutions in the solution database
Creating user manuals and providing training to fellow team members
