About the Opportunity
Our Client in the Motor Industry is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Advanced) for a flexible contract role based at their IT Hub in South Africa. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining vital digital platforms that power international dealer networks and business-critical systems.
Requirements
What You'll Do
Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to clarify requirements and design innovative solutions.
Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications with extensive integration points.
Manage production deployments, release management, and incident resolution.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Prepare technical documentation aligned with ISO standards.
Support system audits, quality assurance, and change management processes.
Deliver knowledge transfer and user training.
What We're Looking For
2 to 3 years' experience in both Development (Java/JEE, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot) and DevOps operations.
Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch) and unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITSM tools like Remedy.
Advantageous skills: Cloud architecture (AWS/OpenShift), Apache Kafka, Ansible, SAP Hybris, Grafana, Kibana.
Degree in IT or equivalent experience, plus relevant backend development certifications.
