Job & Company Description:
The client is based in Cape Town and was established in 2005. They are looking for talented SRE Engineers to join their team. They specialise in development, integration and support functions for large mobile operators, banking industries and smaller private sector companies.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BSc Computer Studies/BEng Computer Engineering
- 5+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a DevOps/SRE position
- Strong technical writing skills (standard operating procedures, and guides)
- Strong understanding of various network protocols/services and proven understanding of trouble-shooting network related issues
- Server hardening (Linux)
- Incident response & postmortem
- Redhat & Debian
- Installation, administration, and troubleshooting
- Ansible; proven understanding of automating installation & configuration of Redhat & Debian operating systems
- Docker
- k8s (OpenShift Origin)
- Strong understanding of Git (Gitflow)
- Gitlab (OpenShift Integration)
- Prometheus (TSDB, Blackbox exporter, node exporter, cadvisor, and alert manager)
- Grafana
- Splunk, Elasticsearch; familiar with parsing JAVA application logs (log4j)
- PostgreSQL
- Oracle
