The Person:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Draughting.
• Extensive experience in designing new products.
• Extensive experience in providing technical support within Fabrication.
• Product and Process knowledge.
• Engineering first principals.
• Ability to select, use and care for engineering power tools.
• Experience in 2D engineering draughting.
• Experience in CATIA.
• Knowledge of CAE software, preferably Catia V5 or SolidWorks.
• Familiar with quality systems, preferably ISO 9001 and IATF16949.
• Understanding of health and safety within the manufacturing environment.
• Project management, leadership and teamwork skills.

• Identify, inspect, use and care for engineering hand tools.

The Job:

Process:

• Design new products using 3D and 2D CAE.
• Design jigs and specifying the processes required to manufacture the product.
• Provide technical support in the fabrication of models based on an approved concept that can be tested.
• After reviewing the approved concept, the Engineer must then deliver specifications and procedures to Manufacturing teams in order for production to begin.xc3x82 This includes designing of all necessary jigs.
• Conduct fitments of prototype and off-tool products.
• Work efficiently in order to meet the company's strategic goals and satisfy client requirements.
• Recognise product design improvements and document and record the ECR to ISO standards.

Finance:

• Work within budget during the design process
• Maintain good time keeping skills and the efficient usage of company time
• Protect company assets (working capital and fixed assets)
• Detect and prevent fraud
• Promote good corporate governance
