Our client, a leading provider of Managed IT and outsource services, is seeking a dedicated Desk Side Engineer (DSE) L2 to join their team. As part of an international client site, you'll provide telephonic and on-site application and infrastructure support, ensuring optimal functionality for our valued customers.

Requirements:
Education:

  • Matric with relevant tertiary qualification.
  • MCSE or other Microsoft Certification preferred.
Experience:
  • 2-4 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Windows, MS Office, etc.).
  • Familiarity with WAN & LAN technologies, TCP/IP tools, and routing.
  • Previous exposure to vendor and global IT partner engagement.
  • Experience with server, PC, laptop, and printer hardware.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation required.

Working Conditions:
  • Role involves movement between Epping and Cape Town CBD or InCloud offices.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on client deliverables and project needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide dedicated support to the Cape Town corporate head office, including executive (VIP) support.
  • Act as backup support for the Epping manufacturing and distribution center.
  • Deploy and manage desktop and laptop hardware and software.
  • Support locally attached and network printers, facsimiles, and peripherals.
  • Respond promptly to tickets, investigating and providing resolutions.
  • Assist in setting up conference facilities and providing technical support.
  • Install and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows & Mac).
  • Coordinate with vendors on software and hardware queries.
  • Assist in onboarding new hires and completing formalities for leavers.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams during change schedules or outages.
  • Manage printer applications hosted on a local print server.
  • Handle mobile phone ordering and inventory management.
  • Work closely with local technical support leader for issue prioritization and escalation.
  • Provide regular reporting to team leader and management as required.
