We are looking for an energetic, creative candidate who is enthusiastic about designing appealing products in a canvas sewing factory that specialises in Overlanding products.
As a designer, you will play a vital component of our design team, focussed on developing and designing canvas products and accessories. You will collaborate with the design team, sample makers and other departments to create high quality products that meet the needs and desire of the customer, whilst aligning with business objectives.
Job role
The duties and responsibilities of the incumbent will include and not be limited to the following:
? Develop and design concepts ceased on in-depth understanding of the latest trends and market needs
? Liaise with other designers and engineers to understand design requirements and provide technical advice
? Collaborate with the sample maker, to ensure that design is technically feasible and meets production specifications
? Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings
? Update and modify all existing technical drawings on an ongoing basis
? Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project and manufacture
? Documentation updates of every project stage
? Produce installation and manufacturing documentation
? Maintain accurate records
? Familiariality with CNC cutting machine
? Ratings and costings of products
Experience and Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Fashion Design, Industrial design or related field
? Proficient in design software such as Solidworks and Corel Draw
? Atleast 1-3 years experience in designing products such as bags and accessories
? Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, prototypes, and finished products, that demonstrate strong visual design skills, user-centered design principles, and problem-solving abilities
? Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
? Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies and ability to think beyond the box
? Knowledge of textiles, and sewing techniques is advantageous but not essential
? Highly organised, independent and self driven skills
