Job Description

CGI Creative Graphics International is looking for a Design Engineer who will be responsible for the development and execution of engineering drawings, tooling, and jig designs for both 2D and 3D printed components such as decals, labels, functional films, and 3D badging. The role ensures all parts comply with global OEM specifications and standards. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and project management to deliver production-ready solutions.

Key Performance Areas



Develop accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings in compliance with OEM global standards and specifications. Design and engineer tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support prototype and production stages. Interpret customer and OEM technical specifications and drawing standards. Support the development of new products and modifications to existing products. Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) principles are applied in all designs. Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure tooling/jig functionality and durability. Participate in design reviews, FMEA sessions, and product validation activities. Maintain and organize drawing documentation and engineering records in line with IATF and ISO standards Interface with customers, OEMs, and suppliers on technical topics related to drawings, materials, and performance requirements. Provide engineering input (where relevant) on product materials, printing techniques, adhesives, and surface treatments specific to screen and digital printed parts. Turnaround time on Projects Effectiveness and accuracy of filing/tracking, drawings & projects

Core Competencies



Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA or similar) for 2D and 3D modeling. Strong knowledge of tolerancing, GD&T, and engineering drawing standards (ISO/ASME). Experience in tooling and fixture/jig design for small precision components. Preferable: Understanding of materials used in printed automotive parts, including polymeric films, chrome polyester, and adhesives. Familiarity with automotive OEM design requirements and documentation protocols. Ability to analyze and resolve design-related issues using root cause analysis tools. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly screen and digital printing, die-cutting, doming, and thermoforming. Competency in project management tools and change control processes (e.g., ECR, ECN, APQP).

Education and Experience



Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field. 3-5 years' experience in a design engineering role, preferably within the automotive or printing industry. Experience working with or supplying to OEM or Tier 1 automotive customers. Exposure to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or similar automotive quality systems is highly advantageous
