Job Description
Our client, a leading private healthcare provider in the Pharmaceutical and Medical sector, is looking to appoint a Deputy Unit Manager - Theatre. This role is aimed at supporting the Unit Manager in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the operating theatre, with a focus on clinical excellence, staff supervision, and patient safety
- Manage the staff requirements of the Unit
- Conduct orientation and train new staff
- Evaluate staff performance
- Ability to implement and maintain standards
- Organisation ability is key
- Cope well in stressful situations
- Adaptable and flexible
- Do after hours call
- Attention to detail
- Manage nursing standards and in-service training
- Maintain a professional image and character
- Disposition towards quality and excellent patient care
- Enforce health and safety regulations
- Accurate record keeping and management of stock
- Current Registration with SANC
- Recognised Post Basic Qualification in Theatre Technique
- At least five years relevant experience as a Scrub Nurse
- Proof of indemnity cover are pre-requisites
- A pleasant disposition and excellent communication skills
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Own transport is a necessity
- Knowledge and skill of Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Ophthalmology will be advantageous
