Job Description


Key Work Output and Accountabilities:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for evidence basedpractices.
  • Quality Patient Care, Evidence Based Practices
  • Management of patient environment, infection prevention and control
  • Management of the Patient care plan
  • Legal, ethical and scientific nursing care, nursing sensitivity indicator
  • Nursing Efficiencies and Effectiveness
  • Staff module, labour hour norms, Budget, Patient acuity, skill mix
  • Staff and Staffing
  • Nursing resource plan, retention, satisfaction, recognition and reward
  • Nursing Education Training and Competence
  • Continuous professional development
  • Critical competencies
  • Standardized induction for all categories of nurses
  • Management and Leadership development
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders which include the doctor relationship
Inherent Requirements:
  • A relevant nursing qualification ( B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
  • ICU /trauma experience will be an advantage.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
  • Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
  • Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data
  • Computer literacy
